North New Jersey's Most Iconic Running Route
The West Essex Rail Trail has been the home to 1000's of local runners since its acquisition in the 1970's. Although situated in the heavily urbanized part of the state, the trail passes through sections of woodland, providing a short escape from the surrounding congestion. While many have ran it, the debate for the fastest times ever thrown down on it will soon be put to rest.
An iconic 2.8 mile trail along the former rail bed on the old Erie-Lackawanna Railroad.
